The course delves into the efficient use of Excel.

It is designed for students who already have a basic understanding of Excel, such as creating and resizing tables.

Software Version: This course is suitable for Excel versions 2010, 2013, 2016, and 2019 for Windows, and for Macintosh Excel 2016.

The course is aimed at personnel working with video terminals and individuals interested in deepening their knowledge of Excel.

Methodology

The course is entirely delivered online and is structured into guided self-learning pathways consisting of videos with voice-over, serving as an interactive multimedia adaptation of an active classroom lesson.

Online lessons in video format, downloadable practical exercises, assessment and learning tests, and a certificate of attendance available for download from the online platform.

Learning assessment

Intermediate practical exercises and a final test.

Content

  • How to process data: Denominate areas, use paste options, transform rows into columns and vice versa, import data into Excel from other applications.
  • How to display data effectively: Freeze panes and headers, add subtotals to tables. Modify data in tables using advanced features: sorting and custom filters, linking multiple tables, and 3D Sum.
  • How to protect a spreadsheet: For example, by using a password and limiting changes to specific areas of the sheet.
  • Create and modify charts effectively: Learn how to manually position elements, modify axes, split segments, add and remove data and images, and combine charts.
  • Some of the most common formulas divided between different libraries: Date and time (extract a year or month from a table), Text (format data to uppercase and lowercase to list emails), Logic – such as IFERROR, VLOOKUP, and financial formulas (calculate mortgages, investments, rates, and interest).
  • Pivot tables: Learn how to create them, set their parameters, and how to group and filter data within tables.
  • How to analyze data through collaboration with other users: Manage scenarios, find precedents and dependents, track changes, and write comments.
  • Introduction to macros: Understand what macros are, how to use them, how to record, run, and delete them.
